Project Manager - Saskatoon

Expocrete Concrete Products Ltd. is currently seeking an energetic, results and detail orientated individual to join our busy and growing company.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and project management on infrastructure projects including storm and sanitary sewers. You will be expected to review
tenders out for bid, complete quantity take offs, project costing, quotations, preparation of shop drawings, manage existing clients while developing new clients, and participate in the production planning process. The Project Manager should be capable of serving as the ‘point person’ for all projects assigned and must be able to communicate effectively with all departments in the organization.

requirements:

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills to clients, engineers, specifiers, consultants, inspectors, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining lasting relationships with key clients;
  • Manages project(s) by adhering to Quality, Schedule, Production and Cost;
  • Represents the company in relevant industry organizations, conferences, and client-
    site visits;
  • Assists in Business Development/Sales through the preparation of Expressions of Interest, proposals, qualification/specification documents, and presentations to clients;

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a project management and estimating environment understanding the specification and tender processes;
  • Formal education in engineering, planning, or a construction-related program is highly desirable;
  • High energy and assertiveness;
  • Organized with multi-tasking skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience in working in a team environment;
  • A self-starter and critical thinker

Inside Sales / Order Desk

Expocrete Concrete Products Ltd. is currently seeking a driven, conscientious individual to join the customer service/order area of our busy and growing company.
Our Customer Service Representatives play an important and central role within the company ensuring the entire operation runs smoothly.

This position is available in our Saskatoon location.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist contractors / customers in a pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable manner
  • Product sales of a wide variety of commercial, agricultural and industrial concrete products including concrete blocks, paving stones, retaining walls, septic tanks, barriers, manholes and catch basins
  • Receipt of incoming deliveries and coordination of outgoing deliveries
  • Process orders using our computerized system
  • Coordinate with yard personnel to ensure timely loading of our products to optimize customer relations.
  • Schedule / dispatch, coordinate and source delivery methods of semi load deliveries, mainly throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Abilities and Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a customer service role
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Must be self motivated and organized with superior problem-solving, team-building and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong computer skills – experience with order entry software would be an asset
  • Concrete products or construction industry experience preferred

This position is offered as a seasonal, full time position for approximately 8-10 months of the year, typically from April to November.

Quality Control Coordinator - Saskatoon

Expocrete Concrete Products Ltd. is currently seeking an energetic, results and detail orientated individual to join our busy and growing company.

In this role, the primary responsibilities are for coordination, inspection, execution and oversight of quality control during the manufacturing process and ensuring that work is satisfactorily completed in accordance with CSA and ASTM specifications and company quality standards.

The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Pre-production inspections of formwork, reinforcing steel placement, inspection of embedded items such as anchor bolts
  • Test aggregates, (sieve analysis), cast concrete test cylinders, do air / slump tests, compressive strengths tests
  • Ensure products are manufactured in accordance with shop drawings
  • Assisting in patching precast concrete, if required
  • Pre and post pour reporting and extensive record keeping
  • Submit reporting to CSA and assisting with CSA audits
  • Attending at site to assess/monitor performance of QC third party testing agencies, where required

Job requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience as a QC Coordinator with a specialty in concrete is preferred
  • Technologist program from a recognized post secondary institution is also preferred
  • Must have valid driver’s license as travel between local plants is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Experience in working in a team environment;
  • A self-starter and critical thinker
